I decided upon the drt900 with the briggs engine rather than the honda due to a few better ratings.
The added plus was the briggs was slightly cheaper.
I have used this tiller so far to uproot flower beds and till the soil and do general weeding.
The big job comes this fall when i do a large front area of our home in the bedding plant area to uproot an out of control pampas grass.
I like the ease of how the engine starts and the ability to have the tiller in gear for travel without engaging the tines.
The dual rotating tines really dig, my friends.
I read all the clunkyness of putting this tiller in different gears but you have to realize one thing, this is gardenfarm equipment, not a porshe carerra.
Gears should not be silky smooth on change on a farm implement.
Just take your time and change gears and if they get tough to move in between take the time to move the tiller back and forth a inch or so to align the gear box then change.
This units engine is rather quiet, too.
I was expecting something sounding like a motocross event but it is pleasantly quiet.
It stated that this unit does not come with the crash bar on front as pictured, but it did.
Not sure why it stated that.
Lastly, assembly is easy and takes hardly more than 30 minutes at best.
I would highly endorse buying this unit if you need a medium workhorse tiller that comes from a great company.
